I was a devoted Doctor Who fan and still love the show today. In the 70s I used to copy the book cover art work of Chris Achilleos.
By the early 80s I discovered the existence of other Dr Who fans. In those pre internet days nerds would express themselves on photocopied page stapled together to look like a home made magazine. We called them fanzines. Photocopies of photos looked like crap and fanzine editors would always be on the lookout for artist that could produce black and white illustrations.
The thrill of seeing my art work in print was better than any art exhibition.

My own attempted at a Achilleos style of art for the McCoy dalek story
